As soon as I had my first lesson with Tamaz, I knew I would learn a lot from him. His knowledge and experience, his skill as a dancer and teacher left no doubt about it. As I continue to study with him, I realize that his patience and creativity as a teacher, his confidence in me, and the depth and breadth of his experience as a dancer are making me a better dancer than I ever dreamed possible. Tamaz is the best teacher I have ever had. He encourages me, and inspires me to continue to learn and improve as a dancer.

I have been a student of Thomas? now for over two years. I?ve danced for over 20 years with a variety of teachers and none has been as influential or as talented as Thomas. Thomas is an amazing dancer and also an innovative choreographer. He has taught me so much about dance and also about myself helping me gain the confidence to perform with a partner and to compete as well. Thomas creates dance programs that are individually tailored and has a keen ability to assess just how much pushing or nurturing students need to challenge themselves and make them the best dancers they can be. Thomas cares deeply for each one of his students and it is truly a pleasure taking lessons from him. He has my highest recommendation and I personally look forward to many more years of learning from someone who I believe to be one of the best in the business.

If you are looking for a great ballroom dance studio, look no further. ILTA Dance Studio is a fabulous find! First impressions are lasting impressions as the saying goes and I knew immediately that ILTA Dance Studio would be a great place for me. From my first conversations with Ilana and Tamaz I was impressed with their warmth and genuine interest in my needs while articulating clearly what ILTA had to offer.I have danced ballroom for approximately 10 years and have had the good fortune to have danced with and been coached by some very good professionals.I had been dancing in Connecticut but the 160 mile round trip began to wear on me. When my Internet search showed there was a studio just 12 miles from my home I was thrilled but cautious because it was a priority for me to work with teachers of very high caliber. After my first lesson with Tamaz I knew I need not look any further. I had found an extremely well trained, talented instructor who can not only clearly articulate the technical aspects of the dance, the essence of its feeling and meaning but he could also dance exquisitely. Believe it or not that is not always the case elsewhere. In just a few short months, my understanding of the art and my technique has improved immensely.Ilana also coaches me and her keen eye catches troubles before they turn into habits and corrections are given with immediate results. Both have the innate ability to bring out the best in you. I was most impressed too with how professionally the studio is managed, how hard they both work and their commitment not only to their students but also to family and friends is most evident and of great importance to them. This coupled with their strong character and high level of integrity provides a safe environment in which to learn and have fun.

Ever since my first lesson at ILTA Dance Studio in the fall of 2006, I knew I had found the perfect place. I had absolutely no dance experience, let alone in ballroom, and I was widely known for my two left feet. During my very first lesson, I found Tamaz to be a very patient and understanding instructor. I could never have imagined loving ballroom so much. Tamaz has a gift for altering his teaching techniques to fit each individual student, which has helped me improve much faster than I ever thought possible. His understanding as a teacher and his talent as a dancer and choreographer has fueled my love of ballroom. Illness in the beginning of 2008 kept me hospitalized and away from the studio for almost a year. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of support I received from ILTA during that time. Regular phone calls from Ilana and other members of the ILTA community only made me that much more eager to return to dance. I am proud to be a member of ILTA and highly recommend the studio to anyone who wishes to dance with such amazing, caring and qualified professionals. Thanks to their support I can say that I no longer have two left feet!

Learning ballroom is the most fun I have ever had. It is worth every bit of the investment it requires in effort and money. Tamaz is an amazing teacher. He always finds a way to make difficult movement understandable. Sometimes students need a visual, sometimes a verbal description or a demonstration is enough. Whatever it takes, he finds the way and then personalizes instruction depending on an individual's learning style. Tamaz is kind while giving honest feedback. He is supportive and understanding when his students inevitably struggle with something. What has impressed me perhaps the most, however, is the high level of professionalism at Ilta Dance Studio. Tamaz and his wife, Ilana, have created an atmosphere that is joyful yet purposeful. They share a commitment to providing the highest quality instruction. They are scrupulously honest in the running of their business. They also organize and participate in a wide variety of dance performance opportunities, hosting their own annual Showcase as well as travelling with their students to national dance competitions. One afternoon, after a lesson, I was chatting with the next student waiting to get started with her lesson. I told her that my lessons were my favorite part of the week.
