| Our group classes are fun and affordable. Beginner Group Classes are designed for those who have no previous dance experience and those who have a little bit of dance experience and would like to learn the steps properly, how to dance the steps to the right beat and how to lead and follow. Beginner classes include an overview of the dances, basic steps, and some step patterns. You will learn how to create combinations of steps and use good leader/follower techniques. Beginner Group Classes are available in Latin Dance (Salsa and Merengue) and Ballroom Dance (Waltz, Foxtrot, Swing, Tango). Intermediate Group Classes are designed to take your dancing to the next level. Building on what you already know or learn in the Beginner Classes, intermediate classes expand your dance repertoire as you learn new dances and add more steps and patterns in the dances you already know. Intermediate Group Classes are available in Latin Dance (Rumba, Salsa, Cha Cha, Samba, Jive) and in Ballroom Dance (Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango) | | | | | Children and Youth |
Video | Group classes and private lessons are available for children and youth. It is not necessary to have a partner for either group classes or private lessons. Children and youth who take private lessons will dance with their instructor. For age 3-4, group classes focus on musicality and an easy start on rhythm and posture using simple stretches, fun music and movement. In group classes for older children and youth, the focus is on developing a solid foundation in the basics. Classes include learning the steps and step patterns of the dances, body movement, posture, dancing on beat and more. Group classes may also include opportunities for developing group choreography such as an all-girls show number. For children and youth who are interested in competing, a year of group work in preparation is recommended before beginning preparation for competition. Private lessons for children and youth can focus on social dance skills or preparation for dance competition. For children or youth taking private lessons who want to compete and don't have a partner, their instructor will be their partner for shows and competitions as well as in the lessons. | | | | | Latin Aerobics |
